Abstract

IPS ASOLIVIHUILA is an organization without profit that provides physical and occupational therapy services in Neiva (Huila). This organization provides rehabilitation processes in three fields: (personal, family, and community). These processes have been structured since their foundation, without the constant updating that these processes require. For this reason, the transformations in the personal experiences of daily, family and community practices were established within the framework of the physical and occupational therapy service for adults of the IPS ASOLIVIHUILA that contribute to their process of social inclusion.. Consequently, this research was carried out considering a qualitative design with an ethnographic approach, where it was possible to know the perception of each participant about their own personal, family, and community experiences and the idea of inclusion. We had four participants. Their ages range were from 25 to 55 years; two of them could not see and the other two had poor vision. We used different techniques and instruments to collect information such as characterization sheet, workshops, participative observation, focus group, and tactile cartography, achieving their analysis employing triangulation. Throughout the analysis of the practices, it was possible to know the participants’ progress. Finally, it is concluded that participants were able to the identify the concept of social inclusion and inquired about the social transformations that they have achieved in their therapies and different practices (personal, family and community).
